How to Fix “This Page Does Not Seem to Exist” Error in WordPress with Astra Theme (Templates & Customizer Access)

We provide comprehensive solutions and support to help you reach new heights.

If you’re using the Astra theme (especially with Astra Pro, Site Builder, Custom Layouts, or Starter Templates), you may encounter the frustrating “This page does not seem to exist” error when trying to access Templates, Custom Layouts, or the theme customizer. This is a common issue often related to server configuration and how the server handles longer lines of output from WordPress admin pages.
The good news? There’s a quick and reliable fix by editing your .htaccess file.

Why Does This Happen?

This error typically occurs because: The server (often shared hosting) has limitations on processing long lines of code or responses from dynamic admin pages.

  1. Step-by-Step Fix: Edit the .htaccess File

  1. Warning: Always back up your site (or at least the .htaccess file) before editing. Incorrect changes can temporarily affect site access.
  2. Log in to your hosting account (cPanel, Plesk, or your hosting provider’s file manager).
  3. Open File Manager.
  4. Navigate to the root directory of your WordPress installation (usually public_html, www, or the domain folder).
  5. Locate the .htaccess file. It may be hidden. Enable “Show Hidden Files” if you don’t see it.
  6. Right-click the .htaccess file and select Edit (or Code Edit).
  7. Add the following code at the bottom of the file:
SubstituteMaxLineLength 10m

Save the changes and close the editor.
Clear your browser cache and try accessing the Templates page or Customizer again.
