When using a Comcast router and when needing to do port forwarding, the configuration does not save even though the settings are correct. This is related to a bug on the router where it does not allow forwarding to IPs outside the configured DHCP scope on the router. This becomes a problem when particularly when you are trying to forward to a server.
The solution is to change the DHCP configuration to include the server’s IP that you are forwarding to. Then reserve the IP of the server.
